Santa Claus is a very-know jolly and trustworthy figure. Every Christmas people can count that he’ll appear with his red clothes, shiny white beard, and a welcome big smile spread on his face.
Since the earliest childhood, every kid whose family signed up for Christian religion knows for sure that Santa will give them presents. But only if they are on the “good list”, of course. For those who have been naughty... well, they probably should hide on Christmas night, because Krampus is coming to town.
Krampus is one of the oldest helpers of Santa Claus. His hideous figure, for sure, scared every little cute elf from the North Pole. A half-goat and half-demon anthropomorphic figure is always walking together with the “Good Old Man”, punishing the children whose names are in the “naughty list”. They’ll be beaten with birch branches or, if the kid is too naughty, he’s going to put her in his sack and take her away to God-knows-where.

You really should have eaten your vegetables.
You better watch out
The origins of the tales of Krampus are unclear, but several countries have Krampus in their cultures. Some specialists believe that this dark figure has origins in a period pre-Christian. The Horned God of the pagans has some similarities with Krampus, for example. But no one can be sure since Krampus was an almost forgotten Christmas figure.
This intriguing fellow of Santa Claus is now outing from his shadow and resurging in our modern society. Krampus' popularity is increasing, recently adding some comic books and movies to his resume. The festival “Krampus Parade”, normally held in Austria, is spreading through Germany, Slovenia, the Czech Republic, Hungary, and even in the United States.
So, you better watch out, because Krampus is coming to town.
